WITHOUT and WITHIN:

The spirit of nature photography
through the eyes of Adele Curtis

"To photograph the essence of a forest, I stand still. I try to have a quiet mind and an open heart. I listen. I can hear the forest singing. I open the doors and windows to my soul, step around preconceptions and push aside mental barriers. With gratitude I drink the nurturing gift of the forest. The photograph records the encounter between myself and the forest. And then, it may awaken in the viewer a memory of or longing for a connection with the natural world. This is a time to experience nature in a way that will rejuvenate, nourish and nurture. Join me on this journey of new awareness and new joy in expression.

"I love to teach. My role as a teacher is to help you develop confidence as you pursue your own journey. My workshops offer you the time, the opportunity and the guidance to see something in a new way."

Photography for me is the path that takes me out of myself intothe comforting arms of the forest, answering questions I had not yet articulated to myself and showing the way when I did not know I was lost. By travelling deeper and deeper into the world out there, I arrived at a peaceful place inside myself. This journey is a challenge and a joy.
